Crowning a career that’s blooming into the stars, Canadian creative Apollo Rising returns with his latest effort, a visual-based exploration of a previous single, ‘Cherry Blossom’. A stunning track, the track showcases the project’s main strengths, carefully putting together a sonic universe that’s soothing, levitating, yet impactful and expressive. Built over soulful electronica and nuanced pop lyricism, ‘Cherry Blossom’ is as contemporary as it could, further enhanced by Apollo Rising’s evocative and charismatic vocals, often layered into a thousand harmonies.
Well, such a masterpiece has now been given a prestigious music video, stemming from the collaboration with director and producer David Sklubal. In it, the listener is bound to be absolutely hypnotised by the vibrant 80s’ “film noir” flavour, evoking a sense of vintage and veiled mystery. The single and video anticipates Apollo Rising’s forthcoming full-length debut, Maybe In Another Life’, expected in 2024.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the video, he explains: “We chose Montréal for the shoot since the city is known for its really unique brutalism architecture style popularized in the 60s. The city offers a lot of scenic and complex architectural backdrops making it really visually interesting and fitting for this video.”
