Easing us gently into the weekend is ‘Sounds like Jack’, the tranquil and introspective new offering from Australian guitarist Anthony Messini. An instrumental piece that somehow just puts a smile on the listener’s face, Anthony’s latest release is influenced by, you guessed it, Jack Johnson. Bringing forth that same laidback and breezy vibe, ‘Sounds like Jack’ transports you to a sunny beach with a soft breeze and the chirps of birds overhead.
“I started writing instrumental music (during Covid) as a way of destressing,” says Messini. “And over a couple of years, I have improved my playing and writing to the point where I can now confidently release music”. I think that’s being a little modest if I’m honest…Anthony’s skill and passion are undeniable in ‘Sounds like Jack’.
Serving as a teaser for Messini’s upcoming album, ‘Sounds like Jack’ hints at much more positive and uplifting instrumental anthems to come. We can’t wait to hear more from this talented guitarist, but in the meantime, kick up your feet, put on this tune, and melt your way into the weekend!
