Did someone say escapism? We certainly did, or at least thought about it. We’d love to take a break from reality, the last few years haven’t exactly been ‘mellow’, or ‘refreshing’. It’s been intense, everyone can agree on it (please do). Anthony Benjamin knows it well, and makes it a formal goal to deliver music with a playful and warm twist, able to transport the listener into an imaginary sonic universe where everything travels at a slower pace and ‘relax’ is the keyword.
Listening to ‘Home Again’, we are able to do exactly that. The London talent manages to build a dreamy, ethereal yet relatable and catchy pop number, channelling charming synth work and light guitar work. Benjamin’s vocals do the rest of the work, showcasing their controlled and soothing tone. A song that’s bound to put a smile on your face, or at least provide you with comforting tones.
Writing about Anthony’s previous effort ‘A Year From Now’, we proudly declared: “he’s managed to capture the anxiety and surrealism of today’s uncertain world in his music. Boasting a signature synthpop style, with strong classic pop ties, Benjamin focuses on evocative and captivating storytelling, providing listeners with an escape from their everyday lives.” We can not only confirm every word we said, but also double down on praising the project, a worthy creative outfit you should definitely check out.
