Anterra Unveils Stunning Album ‘These Things Take Time’

The keen reader will fondly remember American songstress Anterra. Recently featured on our blog with ‘Art of Orbit’, we proudly described her as “blending meaningful, cathartic songwriting with organic instrumental matter”. Now, she’s ready to unveil her new album, a truly hypnotising and crepuscular work of art. A stream of spacious tones and acoustic goodness, crowned by Anterra’s luscious vocals.

Titled ‘These Things Take Time’, the record seeks to celebrate the long and nuanced musical and artistic journey endured by the Denver-based songwriter. A highly trained singer and violinist, Anterra has amassed a stunningly beautiful collection of simple, relatable pieces, all flavoured with the project’s uniquely ethereal sonic recipe. There’s a touch of nostalgia in it too, a given when considering the vast amount of memories and emotional truths fuelling the album’s hazy imagery.

Our favourite track here is ‘Brittle’, one of the most soothing and orchestral episodes in the album. Built over a crepuscular arrangement, packed with textures and reverbs, the track calls for a truly magical listening experience. Speaking about the inspiration behind her work, Anterra explains: “I hope for these songs to serve as a relief valve for our collective grief, to serve as potent and cathartic medicine for others as they have been for me.”
