I wrote about Annie Anna in the past, but honestly, her latest single ‘Wait’ might well be one of her most stunning releases to date. A fiery explorer of the Americana, Folk and Country landscape, the Tucson-based songstress seems to be equally at home in poignant, stripped-back settings as she is in more upbeat and uplifting offerings.
‘Wait’ is a perfect example of the former, a gentle and soft acoustic gem that works wonders in showcasing Anna’s evocative, warm vocals and relatable, nostalgic lyricism. Introduced by her trusted guitar, the track slowly develops into a fuller piece, organising a myriad of textures into a common goal. It almost becomes a cinematic experience by the end, and we are sure Annie’s enchanting harmonies are partly to blame 🙂
‘Wait’ is the song you are going to want by your side on your most fragile days. It’s the song that’s gonna bring you comfort when you need it the most. It’s the kind of record that heals even the most damaged souls – and when an artist manages to make such meaningful music, you know they are to something real.
