American Standard Return with Fierce Punk Effort ‘Punk Rocker’

In 2002, American Standard burst onto the local punk scene with their self-titled demo album, quickly gaining a reputation for their high-energy performances and raw, unapologetic sound. However, their meteoric rise was followed by an equally swift fall, as the band broke up just a year later. Since then, the San José rockers remained dormant, their music and legacy fading into obscurity. Fear not, in 2021 the band decided to make a comeback, realizing that their fans were still hungry for their gritty tunes and fierce energy.

Following up from last year’s EP ‘Self-Titled’ American Standard are now unveiling their latest effort, ‘Punk Rocker’, a testament to the band’s enduring spirit and commitment to their music. With blistering guitar riffs, pounding drums, and lyrics that speak to the rebellious spirit of punk, the record is a welcome addition to their catalogue, while showcasing how age hasn’t affected their bright spirits. Age is also the subject of the lyrical matter, a comedic satire about a mature punk community.

Available on all streaming platforms, ‘Punk Rocker’ is a reminder that punk rock is not just a genre of music, but a way of life. It’s about standing up against the status quo, breaking down barriers, and forging your own path in a world that often tries to force conformity. American Standard remind us of that, in the same way they did back in 2002.
