In our quest for music discovery, we welcome innovators. We welcome whoever is not afraid to try new sonic combinations, to explore their songwriting, to walk away from the beaten path. That’s why Swedish sound wizard AMBERLIND caught our attention. A talented songwriter and producer, he’s been known for blending EDM tones with anthemic, cinematic vibes, blending two distinct identities into a fundamentally new style, a feature we are confident will go a long way in drawing listeners to the project.
AMBERLIND’s debut effort takes an unexpected yet interesting shape. In ‘Reasons’, he reconciles his love for Scottish Highland music (bagpipes etc.) with his knack for catchy and radio-friendly EDM. We don’t recall having heard anything like it before. Making the tune even more precious and evocative, British singer Michael Rice lends his vocals to the mission, an artistic marriage that works perfectly: Rice provides deep, charming vocals which completely dominate the track.
Staffan Amberlind is definitely up to something solid; we can’t wait to observe his career skyrocket and reach global recognition. He’s also active through his own production company, Woodhouse Production. Newest single ‘The Captain Down Below’ also confirms what was said above: he’s found a direction and identity that are uniquely his own. A winning card.
