London-based dark-pop band Amaya and the Echoes recently put out a cinematic and inventive new tune called ‘Circuit Veins’, and it’s a track that I find myself thinking about quite often. Investigating humanity’s growing dependency on artificial intelligence, the hard-hitting, avant-garde, and hypnotising track warns future generations of this dangerous reliance.
Through a dramatic and ominous electronic soundscape, Amaya and the Echoes offer up a unique, thought-provoking, and utterly spellbinding piece of music that urges contemplation. Amaya’s vocal performance is exceptional, as it flows between a ghostly and far away whisper and a sparkling, bright melody that dances through the air.
‘Circuit Veins’ will form part of the band’s upcoming debut EP ‘Echoes Within’, and the record will focus on our actions (or inactions) regarding artificial intelligence. Similarly, it will explore the devastating climate crisis and the lack of respect that we’ve shown towards our planet.
With seven singles to their name, Amaya and the Echoes is a seriously exciting act that I look forward to following and hearing more from. They’re authentic, imaginative, and original, and you simply cannot put a price on that! Here’s to many more from a tremendously talented bunch!
