Slowly building a heartwarming, relatable artistic universe, Salt Lake City-based songstress Alli Brown is fully committed to writing honest, personal pieces, often drenched in a poignant folk aura and gentle pop textures, although guitars do feature in her work pretty consistently. It’s all wrapped in lusciousness, a perfect match for Brown’s elegant, majestic and evocative vocals. ‘Undeniable’ is the project’s latest effort, the strongest evidence of the American creative’s musical prowess.
Written over the past decade, ‘Undeniable’ collects past singles and new offerings, packing eleven episodes with distinct eclecticism. The references are far and wide, and we feel as if the album allows us to follow Alli’s growth and development throughout the past few years. Her sound evolves, and although her blissful folk roots are ever-present, the country-flavoured livery of ‘Summer Storm’ and the fragrant rock-pop in ‘Lies Are Circulating’ provides a welcome foray into more diverse genres.
Written and produced mainly by Alli Brown herself, ‘Undeniable’ also features help from producer Brecken Jones, and a co-write with her sister Sarah in ‘Prairie Smoke’. Speaking about the inspiration behind the songs, Brown explains: “An album of my favourite songs that I’ve written. They’re all based on real events and emotions that I have felt and experienced in my life, making them deeply personal to me.
