Texas-based indie-pop artist Alexandra recently released her brand new single called ‘Funny’, and it’s a rich, southern-influenced, almost Fleetwood Mac-esque gem! It’s Alexandra’s second single of the year, following the beautiful ‘I’m Not Good At This Anymore’, and has been described by the artist as, “a jam-band style session with an undeniable lightheartedness”. Nostalgia-laced guitar tones are intertwined with upbeat drums and Alexandra’s warm, soul-searching vocals, all creating a sort of comforting, cosy, and familiar atmosphere that is very hard to actually describe!
It’s been a rather busy 2023 so far for the musician who performed her first-ever show at SXSW in Austin in March. She also opened for the legendary Abraham Alexander at a sold-out show in her hometown, and people are now beginning to pay serious attention to her talents.
With plans to release more singles before the year is out, Alexandra has the musical world at her feet. Her natural and authentic storytelling abilities are clear for all to hear, and ‘Funny’ not only showcases them but also her incredible musical prowess.
