Our favourite Miami-based songstress is back with another impressive slice of new music. We last wrote about ‘Missing’, Lash’s previous effort: “The listening experience is light and engaging, playful yet meaningful and purposeful” – we stand by our words, with Alexa’s latest offering reiterating her bold, proud artistry. Leaving behind acoustic vibes, the American talent now engages in emotional full-band shenanigans, crafting ‘Fate’, a vibrant and expressive single.
In it, the keen listener will enjoy the eclectic blend of retro pop-rock with friendly and approachable stylings, making for a record that’s moody and nostalgic, yet very receptive and relatable. Moving slowly, ‘Fate’ builds its intensity verse after verse, eventually exploding into an anthemic, poignant chorus that is highly cathartic.
Having produced and written the song with collaborator Pedro Rubio, Lash explains: “Fate’s making the game, are you playing along or rewriting the rules as you go to survive?” A restyling of the project is in the works, with Rubio set to become a permanent member of the duo.
