Alex Uhlmann is a Luxembourg-born, London-based artist and multi-instrumentalist. He’s also the musical director of The Voice Italy, a DJ for the legendary AC Milan football club, and a restauranteur. A true jack of all trades, Alex now turns his attention to making music that’s entirely his own, setting the stage for a bold and exciting chapter in his career.
‘Home’ is the musician’s debut solo album, and offers ten tunes that span various moods and genres. Showcasing Alex’s ability to shift seamlessly between styles, it’s a record that I’ve fallen deeply in love with.
‘Never Be The Same’ gets the ball rolling beautifully with gentle piano, upbeat drum work, Uhlmann’s heartfelt vocals, and soul-stirring strings…The perfect start! The album’s title track then steps up to the plate and it’s another powerful and passionate piece of music that pushes the listener deeper into Alex’s soundscape.
‘Only For A Minute’ gives off serious Bon Iver vibes, while ‘Wild And Free’ serves as an uplifting anthem that is wonderfully stitched together. In fact, every song on the record is built with such incredible precision!
Other personal favourites include ‘Fading Away,’ ‘Complicated,’ and ‘Because Of You’. But, if I’m being honest, the entire album is absolutely spellbinding!
