Alex Cambridge Reintroduces Her Artistry with Emotive New Single ‘Rupture’

In 2015, London-based folk singer/songwriter Alex Cambridge released two singles: ‘February’ and ‘Many Moons Ago’. She then went quiet and released no new music until around three weeks ago. After a seven-year hiatus which included a cancer diagnosis and another traumatic experience, Alex now marks her comeback with ‘Rupture’, an utterly immersive sonic experience I’ve fallen hard for.

Fusing the signature heartfelt storytelling of alternative folk with the spirited spark of indie pop, ‘Rupture’ is a deeply emotional yet simultaneously uplifting piece of music. It’s hypnotic and entrancing, and Alex’s vocal performance is just magical, as she pulls you into a realm of raw emotion and intimate reflection.

“Restarting my career with ‘Rupture’ was important, as it now reflects my journey over the past few years,” says Cambridge. “Initially about unrequited feelings, this song has become my anthem for processing emotions tied to my career, cancer diagnosis, and betrayals”.

Showcasing the artist’s resilience and never-say-die attitude, ‘Rupture’ is a tune that has stolen my heart. Serving as the first of four singles before Alex plans on releasing her debut EP next year, we at Mesmerized can’t wait to hear what this gifted musician has next in store!
