Please welcome ALEJ, a singer/songwriter born, raised, and still based in Miami. Towards the end of last year, he released his debut album entitled ‘Luxe.’ ‘King of Brooklyn’ serves as the album’s sixth track, and beautifully showcases ALEJ’s masterful arrangement skills and dynamic vocals. An upbeat and lively tune, ‘King of Brooklyn’ is a passionate tale of a dream ALEJ had that involves a trip to Brooklyn and an encounter with his then crush. “As I was just about to confess (to my crush), I woke up from the dream,” he says. I think it’s fair to say that we’ve all been there!
‘King of Brooklyn’ sees ALEJ teaming up for the first time with producer Andrei Sora. The entire album was recorded in the musician’s home studio before Sora worked his magic in his London studio. “‘Luxe.’ was first conceptualised during the beginning of the pandemic,” states ALEJ. It’s yet another incredible piece of music that was “inspired” by COVID-19.
Drawing on influence from the likes of Taylor Swift, Troye Sivan, and Ariana Grande, ALEJ is ready to take the music world by storm in 2023. We would not want to be the ones to bet against him!
