Friends…it’s the week of the debut. Today we are thrilled to introduce you to alec rose, a singer/songwriter, musician, and producer who is currently based in Los Angeles. Just a few days ago he released his debut single called ‘Underwater’, and it honestly took my breath away from start to finish. Describing himself as an alternative-folk-pop artist, rose worked alongside friend and producer NICOLOSI to create ‘Underwater’, a dreamy, ethereal, dynamic, and hauntingly beautiful tune.
Drawing on influence from heavyweights like Bon Iver, Frank Ocean, Alabama Shakes, and Genesis-legend Phil Collins, rose creates a vibrant and lush composition. A gentle acoustic guitar gradually crescendos into a powerful chorus, with forceful percussions, delicate pads, and the wide-ranging, deeply emotive vocals of alec.
‘Underwater’ is a showstopper. That’s the bottom line. It impeccably embodies rose’s distinctive and genuine style and sets the tone perfectly for his forthcoming work. I seriously haven’t been this excited about an up-and-coming artist in quite some time. And I mean absolutely no disrespect to all the incredible musicians and bands that I’ve worked with in saying that. ‘Underwater’ has simply struck a chord with me that is hard to explain.
Serious tune alert! Enjoy ‘Underwater’ on Spotify now:
