Aiida Returns with the Infectious and Upbeat ‘Stupid Perfect’

‘Stupid Perfect’ is the killer and upbeat new single from the Oslo-born, Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter known only as Aiida. Dripping in poppy and synthy goodness, it’s a cheerful, positive, and fun tune that showcases a side of the artist that we’re not used to seeing. Exploring that “initial freakout” of dating someone you have strong feelings for, and the constant overanalysing of everything, ‘Stupid Perfect’ sees Aiida at her most lyrically vulnerable and unguarded. “I wrote this song based on my past experience,” she says. “I know that many of us out there feel the same way”.

Inspired by the likes of Aretha Franklin, Dagny, Robyn, and Dua Lipa, Aiida’s vocal performance on the track is powerful, dynamic, and deeply compelling. It’s what, I believe, sets her apart from her peers. Honest, authentic, sincere, superb!

I haven’t noted for some time that a particular tune was “out of my comfort zone” so to speak. In the past, ‘Stupid Perfect’ would have 100% fallen into that category. Perhaps I’m maturing. Or, perhaps it’s just such a good track that it’s impossible to ignore. Either way, I’m so glad to have come across it, and get the feeling that you will be too! Aiida, we think it’s time for an album!
