There’s certainly no need to give out context on this record, but we’ll do it anyway. Have you ever heard of 80s British legends A Flock Of Seagulls? A seminal figure in the new wave and synth Britannia scene, the Liverpool-based project has earned a permanent place in music history, and deservedly so. Guided by its founder Mike Score, A Flock Of Seagulls is still active nowadays, and we are thrilled to present to you all their latest album, out today: ‘Some Dreams’.
In it, keen listeners will discover ten tracks with a very familiar outlook, still powered by that new-wave, synth-lenient formula that suits the group very well. Of course, it does sound modern and deep, from a production standpoint, but honestly it is still surprisingly loyal to their historical livery, which we are big fans of. The title track ‘Some Dreams’ is an absolute anthem, jumping from synthwave to pure Kraftwerk extravaganza, before turning into a slick new wave bonanza. What else could you ever want?
For anyone interested in catching the group live, Mike Score and A Flock Of Seagulls have just finished a North American tour and will hit the road again for extensive dates from Spring onwards.
