If there’s one thing that never declined, is the number of rock bands popping up on our release radars. Now, the key here is to find the ones that have actually something new to say, the ones that are worth following. Well, you won’t find someone worth following more than The Thing With Feathers, upcoming indie outfit from Nashville. Very active last year, they showcased a fresh sound together with powerful vocals and immaculate songwriting.
‘Everything I’m Missing’ is their latest single, and it’s both a confirmation and a celebration. The record is a super catchy indie anthem, with a strong pop character that makes for an intense listening time. It’s no wonder they have already achieved so much, with a featured performance at last year’s South By Southwest, a tour throughout the U.S., and more.
Speaking about the lyrical inspiration behind the track (developed with Ben Cramer), lead vocalist David describes: “The song definitely has a greater sense of nostalgia for us compared to the other tracks on the record in which we were a bit more determined to push the parameters of our genre and create a new modern rock sound”.
