Waking Dreams Emerge from Long Hiatus with Kaleidoscopic Album ‘Sliding Lines’

You see, making good art (and music) takes time. Often, the best thing you can do for yourself is to walk away from the public scene and just focus on creativity. That’s exactly what Waking Dreams did, taking a three years hiatus while keeping their project alive. Finally, we see them on the other side: the Berlin-based outfit has now returned with a fantastic album, ‘Sliding Lines’, a stunning collection of indie-flavoured alternative offerings, quite eclectic and kaleidoscopic. Balanced over gritty guitars, punchy drums and ethereal and theatrical vocals, the record manages to fully conquer our hearts. It is, in a sense, a rather original and authentic album.

Featuring Jason Letkiewicz’s enlightening songwriting and dynamic electronica, the project is headed by singer Angela Chambers, lending her evocative and icy vocals when needed, often drenched in spacious reverb and gooey harmonies. Notably, she also deals with drums and percussions, showcasing the truly universal approach to art and music the pair seems to so proudly champion.

Reminiscent of the likes of Teenage Fanclub, Blondie and Annie Lennox, among others, ‘Sliding Lines’ is a truly interesting offering, one we urge you to dive into it. You won’t regret it.
