La’Monte Returns with Eclectic Gem ‘Welcome to the Heartbreak’

It is not easy to describe La’Monte’s sonic identity. Perhaps it is the deep eclecticism the project seems to enjoy: not only RnB stylings but a wider selection of breakbeat grooves, pop elements and electronica influences, finding fertile territories in the rich and nuanced artistry of the Philadelphia-based newcomer. Fresh off the back of his latest EP, ‘She’s Around’, a stunning slice of modern alternative RnB, La’Monte now returns with his newest offering, a rather quirky and unique gem, ‘Welcome to the Heartbreak.’

In it, the American talent leaves his usual playground for a decisively more daring endeavour. Layering his smooth, luscious and evocative vocals on top of a retro-inspired electronica beat, La’Monte confirms what we already suspected about him: no boundaries – musically, at least. He likes to swim deep in sonic research and personal expression, something we appreciate and enjoy.

A trained and skilled musician, everything you hear in his music is not a product of chance, instead, it’s the gift of a long journey into music and art, allowing La’Monte to flourish and shine off his own light.
