There’s something inherently dreamy and kaleidoscopic in Stonerpop’s latest release. ‘Familiar Strangers’ is one of those records so authentic and unique that it becomes difficult to categorize them. Lucky for us, we don’t care about boxes and genres, we believe in a holistic approach to sonic arts. Introduced by a quirky and modulating synth bass, ‘Familiar Strangers’ proceeds with Stonerpop’s ethereal and icy vocals, soon joined by punchy and abstract drums.
Emerging from Louisiana, Stonerpop was aided by producer Jimmie Bryant in reaching the right sound for the project. Their collaboration is clearly working extremely well, ‘Familiar Stranger’ will get stuck in our brains for a while. The single anticipates an EP expected later this summer – stay tuned!
