We have been following Gemïny for a while, getting gradually used to his brand of emotional RnB and Electronic whirlwind. Perfectly fitting our modern times, the Raleigh creative oscillates between classic tones and more EDM-infused character, while always landing on a sonic formula that’s fresh and innovative. Having debuted only last year, Gemïny showcased impressive productivity, unveiling a plethora of singles that worked wonders in affirming him on the new music scene.
In fact, it wasn’t a long time ago when we were writing about ‘Rock (Right Now)’, proudly declaring: “the American talent channels a dynamic mix of RnB, synth-pop and mainstream matter, resulting in material that’s relatable, groovy and luscious, able to capture the listener since first listen.” Now, Gemïny returns with his latest effort, ‘Nicotine’, a decisively more classic and complex RnB offering. Over a bouncy and haunting instrumental, the talented artist layers luscious and heartfelt lyricism, taking the listeners on a journey through lust, feelings, confusion and betrayal.
Another fantastic effort from Gemïny, which seems destined for higher grounds, as his streaming figures so gloriously confirms. Gearing up for an upcoming album, ‘Victoria’s Secret’, we are confident this is only the beginning.
