flora’s Sophomore Single ‘Long Road Home’ is Another Electro-Pop Marvel

I find myself wondering if Guildford-based singer/songwriter flora expected the incredible reaction she received to her first single ‘Figure It Out’ when she unleashed it only a few months ago. Nearing 50,000 plays on Spotify, it’s a debut performance that saw the likes of BBC Introducing stand-up and taking notice. She has now returned with ‘Long Road Home’, a brand new tune that, along with ‘Figure It Out’, will feature on her upcoming six-track EP. It follows a similar dreamy electronic pattern to its predecessor and features what is becoming flora’s signature style of layered and velvety vocals.

“‘Long Road Home’ is almost like the beginning of the end,” says flora. “It’s time to start thinking about the future, what comes next, and how to feel about it”. It’s a song that expertly captures both the tangible aspects of a situation and the profound emotions associated with significant life changes.

Drawing on influence from the likes of Billie Marten, The Oh Hellos, Bad Suns, and Ashnikko, flora is an artist who dances to the beat of her own drum. Her music is unique, fresh, and honest. It’s seen her build up a loyal fanbase of followers, and we feel this is richly deserved. We can’t wait to hear the entire EP when it’s released!
