I hope you’re ready to experience one of the most progressive, psychedelic, and epic albums of your lifetime. ‘Bamboozle Tesseract’ is the brand new (and fifteenth!) album from New York City-based musician, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Tyler Kamen, and it serves as a sequel to last year’s ‘Artichoke Pythagorum’. Telling a mythical saga that revolves around gnomes, scientists, and mutant vegetables (no, I’m not joking), Kamen has honestly produced one of my albums of the year! It’s progressive rock at its very best, as the artist explores new sonic territories and textures and leaves it all out on the field in the process.
Drawing on inspiration from some of my own personal favourites; Genesis, Frank Zappa, Jethro Tull, Gong, Yes, and Rush, Tyler Kamen is a musician who goes where the music takes him. It’s incredible to hear someone (who I’ve just discovered) sound so polished and “ready”. I can’t help but think of Coheed and Cambria as well, with the science fiction storyline and comparable progressive soundscape.
“There are plans to finish this as a trilogy,” says Tyler. “But details on that project are TBD at the moment”. We’ll be here, patiently waiting Tyler. ‘Bamboozle Tesseract’ is an absolute blinder from start to finish, and it’s an album I can see myself returning to often!
