Emerging from Germany, Gora & Eloy are who we’d call ‘innovators’. They do so by building a highly personal and authentic sound, something that’s bound to make them stand out from an overcrowded electronic music scene. The duo’s music is certainly not EDM, nor it is particularly IDM – perhaps, they have found the right compromise, blending nuanced and researched sound design with strong dance flair, making their pieces relatable, friendly and pretty straightforward.
‘Bronzo EP’ is their latest effort, and as they describe it, it pinpoints the intersection of house, bass music and footwork, borrowing elements here and there to create a steady flow of fast-paced, bouncy and bright sonic matter, also sharing a certain funkiness and grooviness.
The choice of drums is pretty intriguing, with loud cowbells, progressive claps and refined creativity in the pattern choice. Synths are glitchy, hard-hitting and extremely dynamic, really pushing the musical envelope further. Speaking about the record, Gora & Eloy explains: “The Offenbach Mothership locals would call that BBH or 228, a convergence of diverse styles and genres, resulting in a singular and potent subsonic experience…”
