Isabella Lavalle Returns with Daring Pop Gem ‘Love Interest’

Active since last year, Isabella Lavalle has showcased a knack for melancholic and introspective bedroom pop, often drenched in ethereal and electronic vibes, always blessed by the evocative nature of her vocals. Firmly planted in the Chicago artistic community, the young newcomer is a potential innovator, describing the world around her with creative flair and seemingly bold sonic research. Now, Lavalle follows up the earlier single ‘First Spark’ with a brand new offering, ‘Love Interest’. In it, the listener will be met with a sound that feels more solid and nuanced, showcasing how Lavalle has taken a few months off to work on her music, bringing it to higher levels.

Indeed! ‘Love Interest’ is decisively Isabella’s best song to date: not only from a lyrical standpoint – taking a break from sad-inspired breakups in favour of more uplifting and exciting storytelling – but also on a sonic level. The production is louder and ethereal, a definite step up.

Shifting to a more bright lyrical outlook, Lavalle is fiercely pushing her artistry forward, describing the pure and raw feeling of wanting to be with someone, even if the circumstances around you are not favourable. Describing the track, the American talent explains: “It’s more about desire and yearning and I wanted to give it a more modern, mainstream sound.”
