Pushing us all to be the best version of ourselves, Jolene Lozano provides escapism and inspiration, offering the listener a refuge from everyday boredom, and sending a message of encouragement: dream high and strive for what makes you happy. Lozano does so through her wonderful music, an infectious and uplifting blend of RnB, Soul and Pop, declined through the hypnotising and charming vocal tone so proudly championed by the San Francisco-based talent. Active since last year, the project already boasts impressive streaming figures – a sign that something is clearly working right.
Following up from the luscious and slow-paced gem ‘Delicate’, released earlier this year, Lozano now returns with her latest effort, ‘Imaginary Wonderland’, a more upbeat and bright offering, building on modern Funk and electronic vibes. In it, the listener will be met with empowering vibes, rejoicing in the groovy and kaleidoscopic arrangement, so well complemented by Jolene’s dynamic and magnetic vocals, really drawing the listener into the track.
A collaboration with producer Ryan Martin, the record seems set to replicate the success of ‘Balloon’ – boasting the same fierce, punchy charge. Describing the writing process behind the track, Lozano explains: “I wrote this song when I was dreaming about pursuing music full-time, while still working at my full-time job […] Recently, this song has meant so much more to me because I was just laid off. It’s a combination of feeling really scared because I’ve lost this financial stability, but now this is my chance to pursue music full-time and really try to make my dreams come true”.
