Now, Trust the Mask return with what feels like the continuation of a nuanced artistic journey: ‘Otaku’ expands the narrative, building on cinematic, anthemic and ethereal tones.

Channelling glitch-flavoured sound design and immersive textures, ‘Otaku’ perfectly mirrors the lyrical concept behind it, an exploration of the modern obsession with computers and technology. In fact, the song’s title is borrowed from Japanese, and it’s the term describing individuals who escape human interactions in favour of digital connections.
