Not a new face on the blog, Lukx is one of those artists that seem determined to leave a big mark on the current music scene. In fact, he’s revealing himself as a rather productive entity: three singles have been released already this year. We had the pleasure of writing about ‘Hello’ a couple of months ago, proudly declaring: “Bright, groovy and laid-back: ‘Hello’ is pure joy to listen to”. We’ll say it again, Lukx has the ability to deliver fresh-sounding, uplifting and sensual bangers, more often collaborating with his dad, a talented producer.
It is this very same family-based alchemy that so greatly characterises the project. Two different generations, passionately working together for the greater good. Which we’ll then get to enjoy! ‘What If’ is Lukx’s latest effort, another stunning offering from the Belgian newcomer. The record feels like another step up: channelling nostalgic RnB, the track soon makes its way to contemporary settings, also featuring a charming saxophone sample, helping ‘What If’ pop out of our ears, really reaching a glorious status.
Lukx’s vocals are fantastic as always, so precise, yet dynamic and intense, never shying away from layering a thousand harmonies. A fantastic comeback from the Belgian talent.
