Mote is a Tennessee-born but now Berlin-based singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Known for his edgy, eclectic, and inventive electronica-seasoned post-pop, he’s just unleashed a brand new banger in the form of ‘Diamond Days’. Described by the artist as, “‘Let’s Dance’ era Bowie meets The War on Drugs” the tune could possibly be best described as modern new-wave. Whatever you want to label it really, it’s an incredibly infectious, synthy, and textured track that’s pretty hard to get out of your head once it’s in there.
As a self-proclaimed introvert with a love of humankind, Mote looks to the likes of Icelandic singer/songwriter Björk and former Scottish rockers Cocteau Twins for inspiration. Living by his mantra of “be brave and trust the process”, Mote spends his days working on becoming a better musician as well as a better human.
‘Diamond Days’ is as polished, refined, and flawless a song as I’ve heard all year. There’s absolutely nothing I can fault it on, and I can’t wait to dive a little deeper into Mote’s discography. It’s the second single he’s released so far this year, and we can only hope there’s a lot more to come!
