Collaboration seems to always be a fruitful endeavour. Anchen Ji knows it very well, having teamed up with fellow creatives Chengcheng (Troy) Tang and Tyller Bolton to craft a superb and melodious pop gem, ‘Wait It Out’. It has all the strong points of an international hit: from the modern, convoluted production to the catchy and poignant songwriting, fully wrapping the listener into Anchen Ji’s evocative vocal tone, delivering the lyrical message with charm and soothing attitude.
Meeting each other at Berklee College of Music, the legendary music school based in Boston, the trio of talented musicians managed to find common ground in simple yet elegant pop matter, a fantastic addition to any keen playlists. Anchen Ji closes the deal in a wonderful fashion, providing her hypnotizing persona as the face of the project. Honestly, she’s a great artist, and we are confident we’ll be hearing from her soon enough.
Lyrically, ‘Wait It Out’ seeks to recount a past long-distance relationship, which ended despite Ji calling otherwise. Faced with the dilemma of a broken love, Anchen asks the object of her desire to ‘Wait it Out’. You never know, things might change.
