Greg Bounce Returns with Nostalgic Anthem ‘Friends in Towns’

We last featured Greg Bounce a few months ago, eager to share his previous offering, the poignant and emotional gem ‘Thank You’. Writing about it, we proudly declared: “The record builds a refined and nuanced sonic framework where Bounce’s vocals can fully flourish. Among a minimal arrangement, constantly modulating to control poignancy and expressivity, Greg’s warm vocal tone finds its perfect home.”

Now, Bounce is back with his latest effort, ‘Friends in Towns’, yet again a heart-shaking, beautiful offering. Built over orchestral tones, the track evolves slowly into a full-fledged intense anthem, providing the perfect framework for Greg’s nuanced and refined vocals. The result is staggering – ‘Friends in Towns’ will perhaps infuse you with nostalgia, but the comforting kind. The ending is a mesmerising journey through the British talent’s majestic vocals, perfectly fitting the organic, classic arrangement supporting them.

Lyrically, the record explores a theme that many of us will resonate with: moving to the big city doesn’t necessarily mean meaningful human relationships. Often, it is the contrary, as people come and go, and the chaos of it all makes it hard to establish real connections with others. As Bounce explains: “The song is about moving to the big city and making a million friends, but then realising how fragile and hollow some friendships can be.”
