Perry Ripley Returns with Solemn and Celebrative Anthem ‘Sinner’

If you haven’t come across Perry Ripley yet, it’s time to fix that. Originally debuting in 2018, the Brighton-based talent has been championing a fierce, punchy and anthemic sound that finds its cornerstone in Ripley’s strong personality and driving force, exploring the limits of human consciousness and our collective beliefs. Sonically, the project is quite eclectic: from saturated, industrial-flavoured bangers to more polite electronic anthems, passing through RnB reckonings. There’s something for everyone.

We last heard of Ripley in 2021, when he released the EP ‘Cocaine Love’. Since then, the British Musician has gone into a hiatus, perhaps a moment to regroup and find artistic fertility again. That hiatus stopped recently, when he unveiled his comeback single ‘Sinner’. Anticipating an EP releasing later this year, ‘Sinner’ sees Ripley descending into decisively rock-flavoured territories, blending dark and eerie textures with fuzzy energy and guitar prowess. It all provides the perfect framework for Perry’s evocative, solemn and nuanced vocals, perfectly at home in the track’s veiled poignancy.

Lyrically, the song focuses on being a personal anthem for self-belief and growth. As Ripley explains: “Sinner is the lead track from my new EP. This is the first new song I’ve released in over a year. This is the most mature and honest music I’ve ever recorded, and I can’t wait to share it. I am really proud of how this album has transpired and come together as an ensemble of songs about love, loss and heartbreak with my original unique flare added in.”
