Nashville-based singer/songwriter XOLEX (Alexis Curran) has just released her cracking new single ‘Ain’t Buyin’ It’, and it’s an early contender for song of the year in my humble opinion. It’s Curran’s third single to date and sees the musician blending pop sensibilities with soulful, rocky, and country components. Co-written and produced by the legendary Bobby Terry (Garth Brooks, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw) and songwriter EllieMae, ‘Ain’t Buyin’ It’ is an edgy, anthemic, and utterly infectious tune that is just perfect!
Curran’s passionate, dynamic, and forceful vocals, along with her all-too-relatable lyrical content, showcase an artist who is honing in on and perfecting her sound. A wonderful storyteller with songwriting skills to match, XOLEX gifts us with an empathetic offering that urges one to move on and not dwell on the past.
Drawing on influence from the big guns; Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Adele, and Carrie Underwood, Curran has found her swagger and her voice. “No matter what, my energy speaks for itself and I hope that people can feel that,” she says. I felt it, Alexis. It was powerful, honest, unique, and downright superb! There’s no telling how far XOLEX can go if she keeps up this momentum.
