Crowning it all, we find yØx’s vocals, often treated in dazzling autotune and exhibiting a rather ambiguous quality, championing a ‘mumble’ style, understated and complex.
Truly, ‘Wallahï Café’ is the work of a visionary. A groundbreaking force in the scene, yØx is a multi-instrumentalist and digital producer who has been making waves with his unique sound. Drawing inspiration from icons like Fela Kuti, James Brown, RXK Nephew, and Kanye West, he has created an identity that is truly unique. Yet, despite his talent and dedication, ‘yØx’ has struggled to gain the recognition and support he deserves. Even after being sampled on tracks by Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar, he wasn’t paid for his contributions.
