Malibu Hot Flush Unveils Latest Effort ‘Too Much’

If early synth-pop, Italo disco and new wave are your bread and butter, you’ll find yourself magnetized by what Manchester duo Malibu Hot Flush has to offer. Their signature sound delves into primordial synth matter – think about the late 70s and early 80s, drawing a line with the early days of British synth-pop, the likes of Depeche Mode and Cabaret Voltaire. This makes sure they perfectly deliver nostalgic tones, lending a helping hand to all listeners out there dissatisfied with the current state of affairs.

Following up from last year’s ‘Make It Matter’, a definite success, the pair now unveils their latest record, ‘Too Much’, a slightly more introspective and alternative offering, although built on the same pop-alluring vocal melodies. In it, the listener will get familiar with dazzling arpeggios, noisy synthesisers and a slightly more lo-fi outlook, all resulting in another fantastic single from the Mancunian duo.

A collaboration between singer and guitarist Luigi Tiberio and modular artist Tim Bleasdale, Malibu Hot Flush have managed to rally an impressive team of creatives and producers around them, signalling a strong industry interest in the project. Producer Tony Doogan (Mogwai) and songwriter Chris Geddes (Belle & Sebastian) have both taken part in the duo’s upcoming album, due for release on vinyl in March 2023.
