Back in 2015, Croydon-based singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mick J Clark released his incredible ”Brand New’ Love Songs’ album. The very last song on the album is a track called ‘This Is Where My Heart Belongs’, and it’s a beautifully tender little ballad that I just haven’t been able to stop listening to! It’s melodic, infectious, and infused with a Latin rhythm that simply takes the tune to a whole other level. And, as for Clark’s vocal performance, his warmth, genuineness, and sincerity shine through brightly.
Clark is part of Sonorous Records, an independent music record label, and has over 1,000,000 plays on Spotify. To say that he’s no newcomer to the scene would be the understatement of the year. His global warming track ‘We Know It’s True’ reached #3 in the UK and #2 in the USA iTunes Top 100 Rock Songs in June 2020.
I haven’t expressed my gratitude at being introduced to songs like ‘This Is Where My Heart Belongs’ in a while. Ordinarily, it’s just not the sort of tune that I would be exposed to. I’m so glad I have been though, and can’t wait to get stuck into Clark’s enormous discography!
