The Californian singer and songwriter teamed up with collaborators Patrick Hizon and Orion Song to craft a uniquely luscious old-school RnB gem, ‘CHANCE’, a highly poignant offering that’s as gentle on the ear as delicious honey.
Describing the collaborative writing session, Onbar declares: “I truly am grateful for collaboration because it has helped me be truly vulnerable, while being very happy with the way the song is.” The San Jose’ resident was able to use shared energy to source deeper lyricism: that’s just one of the many benefits of teamwork.
Introduced by an evocative, slow-paced guitar arpeggio, ‘CHANCE’ makes its way to musical history by building a soulful and minimal contemporary RnB beat, later crowned by Onbar’s intimate and expressive vocals, the perfect fit for such a relatable song. The record has been recorded in Patrick’s garage, where the trio have been able to come together and create their unique sound.
