Describing ‘Run Home’ is not the easiest task, since Austin West manages to create a piece that’s eclectic and dynamic. Balanced between synthwave, psych-pop and electronica, the record is a joyous listening experience: ethereal yet gooey, the arrangement resembles an ever-changing sonic mass, evolving in the time and space continuum while pulling the listener into its mesmerising musical universe.
‘Run Home’ also references major acts, the likes of Tame Impala and Empire of the Sun, among others. The results are a success, and showcase Austin West’s writing abilities, a certified feature by now. Emerging from New Orleans, he’s a rising creative you shouldn’t forget about.
