Olly Hite Returns with Poignant Piano Ballad ‘Bridge to Babylon’

A certain Elton John used to sing ‘love is the key we must turn’. Olly Hite knows it very well, celebrating the raw and electrifying power of love in his latest single ‘Bridge to Babylon’,  while engaging in a poignant piano ballad which is very akin to the British legendary artist’s style. Of course, Hite also embraces modern tones, inserting electronic elements and a certain anthemic character in his compositions.

Co-written and produced by multi-Grammy award-winning producer Robert Cutarella, ‘Bridge to Babylon’ is a masterful piano-driven ballad, narrated in the past tense. It tells the story of an intense, passionate love that is so powerful, it can only lead to chaos and destruction. The intimate and refined production creates an atmosphere of nostalgia and longing that is both heartbreaking and beautiful.

Love can be a powerful force, both for good and for bad. In the record, Olly Hite describes a thoughtful exploration of what happens when love becomes unsustainable and uncomfortable, when it runs too deep for comfort. It serves as a reminder that, in the words of Hite himself, “you can fall in love, you can be in love, but have you ever been faced with hedonistic love?
