Gary Dranow Sings About Meeting His Wife in ‘Something About You’

Gearing up for the release of their debut album “25 years in the making”, Gary Dranow and the Manic Emotions embody a happy comeback story, the realization of an old dream. As we described when writing about ‘Destiny Road’: “It’s a tale of resilience, a lesson on how things can still happen, if you believe in them and work hard towards achieving your goals.”

Now, Gary Dranow returns with another catchy offering, ‘Something About You’. Channelling classic rock energy, the project immerses us into a track that’s relatable and simple, yet effective. Clean and fuzzy guitars join groovy drums, providing the perfect musical framework for Dranow’s vocals. Rock crooning at its best, the Park City musician manages to deliver memorable melodies and a highly personal lyrical theme, perhaps offering a glimpse of advice to the listeners.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the record, Dranow explains: “Born from my song ‘Destiny Road’, this was written for the world traveller I meet and fall in love with in the track. A reality that’s exactly what happens seven years later after I wrote the song. So as it goes I wrote it for my wife of 18 years, Elizabeth who I meet in 2003 and married in 2005. Just as an aside she is my fourth wife which wrote about in my upcoming release Mellow Drama.”
