Josh Long Returns with Funky and Uplifting Pop Gem ‘Tidal Wave’

The music industry got to know Josh Long only last year, with the release of his first two singles ‘Last Lune’ and ‘Love in Lune’. The project’s strengths were immediately clear: Long is the carrier of an alternative brand of indie-pop, drenched in retro electronica tones, but never afraid to experiment when needed. Add his soothing and controlled vocal tone, and the results are musically satisfying. Now, the San Francisco resident returns with a brand new record, ‘Tidal Wave’, a single that feels like the confirmation of his pop prowess.

Exploring a more standard poppier direction, Long configures ‘Tidal Wave’ as a simple yet catchy gem, built on steady drums, funky guitar riffing and his signature flanger effect on vocals. Lyrically, the song focuses on the difficulties of unreciprocated connections and the confusion that comes with them.

Josh Long is a self-taught producer, guitarist, and songwriter with over ten years of experience, his musical style rooted in the flavourings of his California home: inspired by the likes of The Eagles, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bee Gees, Tom Petty, and Lenny Kravitz, Josh Long has crafted a sound that is both timeless and modern. With ‘Tidal Wave’, he reiterates those premises, highlighting himself as the talented upcomer he is.
