It’s no surprise to observe why Typical Div and SØ have been making waves in the hip-hop scene. Combining a nostalgic yet futuristic sound, their unique approach to music is something that has been capturing the attention of many. Hailing from Atlanta, the producer (SØ) and the rapper (Typical Div) have been making music together since 2018. Their individual musical influences come from all across the board, and it’s this wide range that allows them to come together and create something truly special.
‘Safe Space’ is the first single off their collaborative album, expected for later this year. In it, we find the result of an artistic match that works perfectly: SØ punchy and deep production, exploring dark tones and exciting grooves, is the perfect companion for Typical Div’s fast and thick flow, describing themes of current social media culture and its pitfalls in society, with lyrics that are sure be easily relatable by the audience.
Throughout their career, Typical Div and SØ have played a number of gigs in Atlanta, as well as receiving production credit on Metro Boomin’s song “No More” for SØ’s guitar work. With an album of this calibre on the horizon, it’s only a matter of time before the two become household names.
