Dom Malin and Luna Keller Team Up Over Poignant Jewel ‘Overgrown’

Collaboration often bears wonderful fruits. There’s something magical in two creative souls getting together and fusing each other’s artistry into a stronger, more sensible entity. That’s exactly what Dom Malin and Luna Keller have achieved, writing a track that’s as wonderful as they come. Both talented songwriters and singers, Malin hails from Britain, while Keller fluctuates between Germany and Spain. After meeting online during the midst of the pandemic, the pair began to connect over shared themes and musical formulas, setting the cornerstone for the glorious record they offer us today.

‘Overgrown’ is everything we wanted it to be. A gentle, warm and relatable gem, built over simple acoustic guitars and strong storytelling. The listeners can fully count on Malin and Keller’s heartfelt vocals: they won’t let them down. It is interesting to observe the two artists singing in unison. Their tones complement each other’s perfectly, creating a mesmerising blend that greatly enhances the song’s lyrical message, focused on solace and nostalgia over missing a dear someone.

As Keller describes it: “The song is a metaphor for losing someone close to you (mother, father, sibling, friend grandparents, etc..), and while it never feels the same when they are gone you have fond memories of that time.” Malin adds: “The song’s story grew into a story of loss and nostalgia. Life moves so fast and as new houses fill with light, old ones fall victim to the dust and weather of time. whether it’s a person or a place that doesn’t exist anymore, there are memories and moments that tie us to them all our lives.”
