I first stumbled upon the South East England-based act Nobody’s Wolf Child earlier this year when they released ‘Green Fires’, a hypnotic dark-pop tune that I fell seriously hard for. Then, just a few days ago, they unleashed their brand new single called ‘Big Bad Wolf’, and it sees the band opting for a darker, grittier, and more aggressive sound. Lavish strings are replaced with a brooding bass line and grainy drums but, whilst the vocals are “harder” and more in-your-face, Nobody’s Wolf Child maintain their signature production style. It’s this style that has seen their fanbase grow so rapidly in such a short amount of time.
The band released their debut single ‘The Fall’ in January of this year. From then up until now, they’ve received over 200,000 plays on Spotify and are nearing 10,000 monthly listeners as well. Those are some seriously impressive numbers in less than a year!
Standing at just under six minutes and twenty seconds, ‘Big Bad Wolf’ is Nobody’s Wolf Child’s longest track to date. It’s a strange thing to get excited about but, personally, I believe it means that they’re getting more and more comfortable with their sound. We love it!
