What a year she’s had! Milena Galasso debuted on the music scene earlier this summer, instantly drawing attention to her project thanks to powerful, evocative vocals and refined songwriting prowess. ‘Summerstorm’ was a beautifully poignant gem – it is not just us thinking that, you can include the 50k listeners that have been streaming the song since then. With such a strong debut, it was hard not to imagine a bright career for the London resident.
Naturally, we got what we wished for. ‘I’ll Be Gone’ is Galasso’s second single, released earlier in November. Sharing a more upbeat, bubbly and empowering character, the track navigates the same organic pop territories Milena is known for, while incorporating subtle soul and RnB influences.
Marking the beginning of her collaboration with producer Alex Rigueiro, Galasso configures ‘I’ll Be Gone’ as a fierce call for empowerment and freedom. As she explains: “When I wrote this song, I had literally just moved to London, so in a way, I was already gone from whatever was holding me back. I felt free, you know, stronger than I was ever before and inspired.” Is there anything toxic in your life, anything that’s damaging your glow? Perhaps this is the right time of the year to let that go.
