For Californian rising star Kaleigh, music is part of her culturally rich identity, spanning several art mediums and academic achievements. Part of the entertainment world since the young age of 13, she had the chance to appear as an actor on various teen television networks, slowly forging her career as a creative force to be reckoned with. Dipping her vocals in recorded music since 2017, Kaleigh has recently come back to it in full force, especially with last year’s album ‘Predestined’.
Earlier this month, the Californian songstress released a brand new single, kickstarting a potential new chapter. Slowly transitioning into an authentically pop-rock sound – channelling a trend that seems to be solid as ever – ‘Situationships’ reveals a heavier, grittier side of Kaleigh, a side we are happy to be discovering.
Introduced by proper alt-rock shenanigans, the track goes on to build a typically early millennia alt-vibe, pairing perfectly with the Los Angeles resident’s powerful and expressive vocals. In fact, we believe ‘Situationships’ to be the best showcase of Kaleigh’s musical quality, for now. Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, she describes: “Situationship is about being frustrated as you are stuck in the in-between with someone you’ve come to care about. Too often these days, people are quick to trade a good thing for a good time. Others are so damaged by their traumatic pasts that they keep themselves from truly moving forward or falling in love once again.”
