Aggressive Soccer Moms Unleash New Single ‘That’s How I Feel’

Jeremy Bregman

‘That’s How I Feel’ is the incredible new single from Aggressive Soccer Moms (ASM), a Stockholm-based lo-fi, post-punk trio. Taking inspiration from the early punk movement of the late seventies, ASM recently added Stefan Wistrand on saxophone to their line-up. This addition is instantly heard on ‘That’s How I Feel’, and it gives the band an entirely new sound and perspective. On the whole, it’s a track that’s incredibly innovative and avant-garde, with hints of The Cure and Joy Division, scattered throughout.

‘That’s How I Feel’ is the first release from ASM’s upcoming album ‘Quint’, their seventh album to date! It’s scheduled to be released in February of next year, and the trio have promised us that there will be more saxophone to come. “The ambition was that the music would become a bit “jazzy” and “extreme”, they say. “But it’s still post-punk that rules”.

There’s a certain nostalgia to ‘That’s How I Feel’. Maybe I’m just showing my age, but it takes me back to my youth. There’s something about the tune that I can’t quite put my finger on, but it’s the reason that it’s resonating with me so much. We simply cannot wait to hear ‘Quint’.
