The Animal Gang are a Dublin-based alternative-rock band that released their first single all the way back in 2016. With a much-changed line-up and nearly 7 years after their debut, the band are finally back! Earlier this year they released ‘Paper Plane’, but today we are focusing on their brand new energetic tune called ‘Gimme Love’. It’s a straight-up classic rock track from start to finish – with distorted, heavy, and melodic riffs and licks. It gives off a dive bar kind of atmosphere and, along with Kris Finn’s riveting and dynamic vocal performance, is just the perfect rock ‘n roll song in many ways.
‘Gimme Love’ has been described as having an “AC/DC type of sound over a Rolling Stones type of groove,” and it’s hard to argue with that assessment. What I’m loving, however, is that spark of uniqueness and authenticity in their sound. It’s possibly the hardest task to display as a musician, but the boys have pulled it off perfectly!
There’s nothing like a good old-fashioned rock ‘n roll tune to get one going, and with ‘Gimme Love’, The Animal Gang have offered up a beauty! We want more! We want more!
