Jenn Vix Mixes Things Up with ‘Mr. Strange’

‘Mr. Strange’ is the dynamic and explosive new single from Rhode Island-based multi-instrumentalist, programmer, and vocalist Jenn Vix. Fusing an indie-pop sound with a classic trap instrumental, the track sees Vix embracing the strange, and telling the story of a woman’s adventures with a male blow-up doll. “Alone in the night, nothing felt right, then he arrived in a cardboard box.” It’s a genre-blending tune of epic proportions and showcases Vix’s range, willingness to experiment, and vocal prowess.

Mastered by Colin Leonard (Cardi B, Beyonce) at SING, Jenn is no strange to working with seriously talented individuals. She has previously collaborated with Reeves Gabrels (David Bowie), Andy Anderson (Iggy Pop), and Josh Ashton (The Psychedelic Furs) to name just a few. And, as you might expect from someone with such a unique sound, Vix’s influences run deep. Interpol, TV On The Radio, Portishead, Frank Ocean, and Rihanna are just some of them.

‘Mr. Strange’ is intriguing and captivating in a quirky and unconventional way. I think that’s why I enjoyed listening to it so much. I’m an absolute sucker for a genre-blending and experimental new sound, and Jenn has offered that up in spades! We can’t wait to hear what she gets up to next!
